Countries: Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, TajikistanOrganization: Development Expertise LabClosing date: 11 Sep 2026Development Expertise Lab (DEL) specialises in data collection, data analysis and research activities in developing countries.In the framework of an impact evaluation of a programme supporting refugees, DEL is implementing a large-scale phone survey with Afghan refugees living in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. All interviews will be conducted remotely by phone and WhatsApp, using computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) with SurveyCTO. Applicants may be based in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan or Afghanistan and must be fluent in Dari. As the survey is conducted entirely by phone, no travel is required. The Field Coordinator will supervise a small team of enumerators.Contract Duration: short-term consultancy, paid at a daily rate, covering preparation, training, pilot, and data collection between early September 2026 and Late October 2026.Main ResponsibilitiesThe Field Coordinator will be in charge of:Supporting the DEL project team in obtaining the necessary local authorisations to conduct data collection, if and where requiredSupporting the recruitment and selection of enumerators, for approval by the research teamContributing to the survey implementation plan, the survey manual, and the enumerator training programme, in coordination with the DEL project teamCo-facilitating the three-day enumerator training and the one-day pilotSupervising the day-to-day work of the enumerator team, monitoring daily productivity, and managing call schedulingImplementing routine data quality assurance, including follow-up on high-frequency check flags raised by the central data teamEnsuring that all call attempts and their outcomes are recorded accurately, and that discrepancies and anomalies in the data are reconciled and corrected in communication with the DEL project teamEnsuring adherence to survey procedures, ethical standards, informed consent protocols, and data protection requirements for sensitive data collected from vulnerable populationsParticipating in daily check-ins with the DEL project team and the research team during the first week of data collection and regular check-ins thereafter, and addressing issues raised on data qualityQualificationsCandidates must meet the following criteria:Native or fluent speaker of Dari and ability to communicate professionally in English (both are required); Pashto is an assetDemonstrated experience supervising teams of enumerators on socio-economic surveys, including phone-based (CATI) surveysExperience with computer-assisted interviewing software; experience with SurveyCTO is a strong assetKnowledge of the cultural context and sensitivities of the respondent populationUniversity degreeStrong communication skills and proven ability to liaise between enumerators, project management, and research teamsBased in Tajikistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, or AfghanistanHow to applyTo apply, fill the form: https://forms.gle/famGbR25JQqBLTLQ7Indicative deadline: 11 September 2026.
