All employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of all applicable background checks, including criminal record checks where possible.Location: Syria - RaqqaNumber of Positions: 5Salary: As per the UNISEF salary scaleJob purpose:The ELP Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning activities under the Empowered Learning Program (ELP) approved by the Ministry of Education, to out-of-school children and adolescents. The teacher will facilitate learner-centered educational sessions, support students' academic and psychosocial development, and contribute to improving learning outcomes through inclusive, participatory, and child-friendly teaching approaches.In collaboration with Teacher Specialist and overall supervision of the Education Coordinator, the ELP Teacher will ensure that educational activities are implemented effectively in accordance with project guidelines, Ministry of Education standards, and UNICEF requirements.Major Responsibilitiesa. Deliver ELP sessions according to approved curricula, lesson plans, and project schedules.b. Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation.c. Apply learner-centered and competency-based teaching methodologies.d. Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of children and adolescents.e. Support students in achieving expected learning outcomes and competencies.f. Prepare daily and weekly lesson plans aligned with program objectives.g. Manage classrooms effectively to ensure positive behavior and active learner engagement.h. Utilize appropriate teaching and learning materials to support instruction.i. Promote respect, inclusion, and positive discipline practices.j. Conduct baseline, formative, and end-of-cycle assessments as required.k. Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic progress.l. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and learner performance.m. Share progress updates and concerns with supervisors in a timely manner.n. Promote children's well-being and psychosocial development during learning activities.o. Ensure adherence to child safeguarding, protection, and PSEA policies.p. Coordinate with Teacher Specialists, and project staff to improve educational quality.q. Participate in teacher meetings, trainings, workshops, and professional development activities.r. Engage positively with parents and caregivers to support student attendance and learning.s.
