Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.About UsLifting Hands International operates a community center in Serres, a small city about an hour away from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. We work with a population of 1000+ asylum seekers and refugees at the local camps, providing regular aid distributions and a range of psychosocial support programs.Role ProfileThe Recreation Program offers recreational activities and classes using a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and community-led approach. The program includes open social spaces with board games and outdoor sports, as well as a structured schedule of indoor classes such as sports, yoga, fitness, music, and art. Activities are open to teens and adults from the camp communities and are facilitated by both community volunteers (camp residents who are part of the LHI team) and visiting volunteers.Key ResponsibilitiesAs Recreation Program Manager, you will:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the recreation space and all scheduled activitiesCollaborate closely with the Director of Operations and other program managers to support visiting and community volunteers in delivering psychosocial support activities, including both ongoing programming and one-off activities (e.g., workshops, tournaments, trainings)Lead and support a diverse team of volunteers, encouraging community volunteers in leadership roles and active facilitation of activitiesFacilitate regular team meetings and create weekly activity schedulesProvide program introductions, training sessions, and regular one-on-one check-ins for volunteersWork with the Community Engagement Program Manager to promote community volunteer ownership and autonomyCollaborate with the Female Friendly Space Program Manager to support female-focused programmingAssess community needs and interests, actively involving participants and volunteers in shaping relevant activitiesGather feedback and conduct needs assessments to inform program development and ensure alignment with LHI’s visionSubmit weekly and monthly reports outlining activities, participation, and outcomesTrack attendance, manage budgets, oversee inventory, and coordinate logistics to maintain consistent program qualityEssential CriteriaProactive and able to work both independently and collaborativelyPrevious humanitarian experience working with vulnerable populationsExperience teaching classes (e.g., yoga, fitness, sports, music, arts) using a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and community-led approachUnderstanding of psychosocial support (PSS) program implementationPrevious experience leading and managing teamsAbility to handle safeguarding concerns with professionalism and careStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively under pressure in a large, multicultural teamFluent in EnglishMinimum six-month commitmentDesirable CriteriaRelevant degree(s) in a related field.Ability to commit 6–12 months.International driver’s license.We OfferFree shared accommodation.Five-day workweek with a full-week break after every 6-8 weeks.Monthly stipend (starting from 550 €).Access to mental health counseling.How to applyTo apply, please fill out the application here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1BN4EDrYavZt4G7JdkPVSoUHr0Hl-NxiZof3t8vXQmlU/editPlease send any questions you have to our Director of Operations, Jo at operations@liftinghandsinternational.orgTo learn more about Lifting Hands International in Greece and around the globe, visit our site at www.lhi.org
