At the end of the initial two-year contractual period, there are good prospects for extension. The position can be based in any of the following confirmed locations: Kenya, Ethiopia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Germany. Additional duty locations within the EU may be considered, subject to local employment possibilities. Employment will be subject to the national terms and conditions and salary structure applicable at the respective duty station.As Strategic Investment Partnerships Lead, you will enable Welthungerhilfe (WHH) to realize its sustainable Global Growth ambition by steering the development and launch of high-impact “Big Bets” — novel solutions, investment mechanisms, and partnerships that address underfunded, high-leverage opportunities and accelerate progress toward Zero Hunger on a Healthy Planet.The focus of the role is on building strategic investment partnerships that influence funding priorities, flows, and mechanisms. Your success will be measured by your contribution to WHH’s strategy, your ability to mobilize investment for Big Bets that are closely aligned with WHH’s values, brand, strategy, and capabilities, and your contribution to strengthening the organization’s readiness to grow its overall impact, influence, innovation, and investment readiness as One WHH.Your responsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of an organization-wide opportunity funnel for high-impact, influential and innovative Big Bets for Zero Hunger on a Healthy Planet.Establish transparent governance, decision-making criteria, processes and tools for the development and prioritization of Big Bets.Coordinate cross-functional teams to identify promising opportunities across WHH and its ecosystem and develop them jointly with idea owners.Translate promising opportunities into suitable mechanisms, such as coalitions, funds, public-private partnerships or ventures, and develop actionable partnership and investment plans.Map and engage relevant communities, funders and investors, influencers, regulators, technology providers and other key actors to validate opportunities and identify where WHH can deliver distinctive value.Develop and implement tailored partnership and capital mobilization strategies together with relevant units and Country Offices.Build coalitions around shared agendas and align public, philanthropic and private capital to mobilize investment for Big Bets.Use compelling narratives, strategic convenings, coordinated campaigns and tailored pitches to build momentum, increase visibility and secure commitment from anchor partners.Strengthen WHH’s role as a thought and practice leader in investment partnerships in international cooperation.Build and share organizational knowledge on relevant trends, breakthroughs, bottlenecks and Big Bet opportunities through horizon scanning and exchange with external ecosystems.Foster a growth mindset across WHH and champion a culture of curiosity, courage, creativity and collaboration to increase WHH’s impact, influence and innovation.Your profileA strong track record of establishing a portfolio of ventures, partnerships or highly influential programs in an international cooperation setting, with proven success in growing an organization’s impact, influence, innovation and incomeCross-functional experience across programs, innovation, policy, partnerships, investment and business development is a strong assetDemonstrated competence in pitching, partnership development, leadership, strategic thinking, collaboration and communicationA strong understanding of sector trends, innovations and key actors in nutrition, climate, food, WASH and humanitarian systemsExcellent understanding of funding and investment dynamics, including Official Development Assistance (ODA), Other Official Flows, public and private investment and philanthropic giving, as well as relevant partnerships and platformsA demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic and complex multi-stakeholder environmentA strong network of existing relationships with philanthropic and institutional donors and other relevant organizations in food, WASH and humanitarian systems, climate resilience and nutrition is a strong assetPrevious experience working in low-income, fragile and conflict-affected settings and in securing and/or managing high-value programs or ventures is an assetYou recognize the growing value of data in your field and are eager to build your awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your workExcellent English language skills; good French language skills are a strong assetWhat we offerFair Compensation: A fair and equal remuneration based on a transparent salary scale.Work-Life Balance: Enjoy flexible working arrangements to support a balanced lifestyle.Modern & Agile Work Environment: Be part of a forward thinking organization that fully embraces digitalization and innovation across all areas.Personal & Professional Growth: Access diverse learning and development opportunities to advance your career.Team: Join our dedicated and diverse teams, where passion, expertise, and joy come together to create a better world.In addition, Welthungerhilfe offers numerous other benefits, which you can find under Our benefits.How to applyPlease send your application via our online recruiting system by September 28, 2026.
