WeWorld works in 15 countries around the world, including in Italy, with more than 120 emergency, humanitarian aid and development projects. Its activities mainly involve women, girls and young people, actors of change in every community for a fairer and more inclusive world. The organization operates in several natural and man-made crisis in various regions of the world. The emergency response, coordinated by the Humanitarian Aid Unit, is composed by multi-sectorial interventions comprising of WASH, EiE, CVA, Food Security, Protection, and others. The organization operates also in protracted crisis with provision of humanitarian aid through a prevention, emergency relief and rehabilitation approach. ROSTER WeWorld opened this Roster for Country Representatives with strong experience in both development and emergency settings and interested for short notice, short terms deployments in countries where WeWorld would experience unexpected gaps. Short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview and selected candidates will become part of WeWorld roster list of professionals who will be contacted when needed. Being part of the list does not guarantee any immediate of future collaborations with WeWorld. Inclusion on the roster list will be active for the ongoing year and can be renewed upon mutual agreement between WeWorld and the roster list members. Job description The Country Representative is based in the country for which he/she is the legal representative and head of mission of the organization. He/she reports to the Head of Regional Unit. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and accountability for WeWorld's country programme. • Represent WeWorld with donors, government authorities, UN agencies, partners, and other key stakeholders. • Lead the development and implementation of the country strategy and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. • Drive partnership development, fundraising, and resource mobilization efforts. • Ensure the quality, relevance, impact, and compliance of all programmes and projects. • Oversee the security, safety, and operational management of the country office. • Lead, supervise, and support expatriate, national staff, and volunteers, promoting a positive and high-performing work environment. • Ensure sound financial management, internal controls, and compliance with donor and organizational requirements. • Guide external communication, advocacy, and policy implementation to strengthen visibility and influence. • Promote knowledge management, organizational learning, innovation, and continuous improvement across the country programme. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Qualifications and Knowledge • An advanced university degree or equivalent in the field of Humanitarian Aid, Social or Political Science, Development Studies, International relations, Project Management • Good knowledge of MS Office • Fluency in English written and oral Professional experience • Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience in development or emergency contexts as country representative. • Working experience with international NGOs in management of international cooperation projects funded by institutional, private donors and sponsorship programs • Sound leadership and team management experience • Proven experience in Project Cycle Management, including proposal development • Experience in start-up and/or low level resources office management • Experience in logistics management • Experience in Security Management Skills and Abilities • Strong flexibility and capacity to adapt behaviour to the needs of the situation in dynamic contexts • Capacity to work under stress, autonomously and in problems prevention/resolution • Proven organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while fostering quality, team spirit and positive working relationships with colleagues • Ability to identify, initiate and maintain good relationships with partner organizations, donors and national authorities including building professional relationships with senior decision-makers and influencers/leaders • Good communication, negotiation skills and sensitivity in dealing with donors, partners and third parties. • Strong commitment to the Mission of WeWorld Desirable requirements • Experience in one of the following sectors: Cash and Voucher, Education in Emergency, WASH • Fluency in another language (French, Arabic, Portuguese) WHAT WE OFFER Type of contract: short-term or medium-term assignments, according to program needs Economic conditions: according to WeWorld Expatriates Compensation Policy Base Salary (3.498€ - 4.098€ gross monthly) + Contributions reflecting role complexity and hardship level of the duty station Wellbeing & Inclusion: One day of paid menstrual leave per month.
