About MSF Eastern Africa MSF Eastern Africa is the regional institutional office of MSF. It focuses on representation and networking, recruiting and supporting staff from the region, communications and fundraising, as well as working on other dossiers of importance to MSF such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Data Protection, mutualization, training, medical operational support and environmental health. Rationale/Objective for Position The Face-to-Face Fundraiser is responsible for representing MSF in public-facing locations, engaging members of the public in informed and meaningful conversations about MSF's humanitarian work and converting interested individuals into committed regular donors and single-gift donors through approved channels. This position will be hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Donor Relationship Manager. Tasks & Responsibilities Public Engagement & Donor Acquisition • Approach and engage members of the public at assigned deployment sites in a warm, professional and informed manner. • Deliver compelling and accurate narratives about MSF's humanitarian mission, current programmes and emergency responses in Eastern Africa and beyond, including health crises, conflict zones and outbreak responses. • Create awareness of MSF's work among individuals who may not be familiar with the organisation or its operations. • Listen to prospective donors, answer questions accurately, handle objections professionally and invite interested individuals to make a regular monthly giving commitment or single gift. • Process donor sign-ups using only MSF-approved forms or digital tools and approved donation channels. • Meet agreed daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for donor sign-ups and quality of engagement. Donor Data, Quality & Follow-up • Capture and record donor information, consent and other required details in line with MSF donor management and data protection protocols. • Ensure all information submitted through approved sign-up tools is complete, accurate and legible. • Identify and appropriately refer donor enquiries, complaints or requests that cannot be resolved within the scope of the role. • Provide timely feedback on recurring donor questions, objections, public perceptions and field-level learning to the supervisor. Team Participation & Field Operations • Work as part of the four-person F2F pilot team and contribute to a positive, target-driven and collaborative team environment. • Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions, briefings, coaching sessions and debrief meetings. • Follow the agreed deployment schedule and field procedures, including the structured Friday, Saturday and Sunday working pattern during the pilot. • Maintain professional conduct, appropriate MSF visibility and a safe and respectful presence at all assigned locations. • Report daily activity, donor sign-ups, contacts, challenges and any incidents through the required reporting tools. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintaining honest, transparent, and respectful conduct in all donor interactions. • Never making false or exaggerated claims about MSF's work to secure a donation. • Handling donor personal data responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and MSF procedures. • Immediately reporting any safeguarding concerns, complaints, misconduct or other serious incidents to the supervisor. • Embed duty of care principles into all initiatives Qualifications Education • Minimum qualification of a Diploma or equivalent. • Fluency in English and Swahili; additional languages are an asset. Experience • A minimum of 1-year relevant experience • Prior experience in sales, customer engagement, fundraising or community outreach is a priority. Conditions and Benefits: • Job Location: MSF Eastern Africa office in Nairobi (Kenya). • Contract: 1- year renewable Full-time contract. • Start date: As Soon As Possible. • Salary: An annual salary of EUR 8,534 at HQ Grade 2 based on a full-time appointment with an annual increment of 2% every year up to a maximum of 10 years. • Work-life balance financial benefit; ranging between EUR 247 to 295/month based on individual & administrative status. This amount may be used to cover accommodation and utilities, transportation, etc. • Other benefits include; 25 days of annual leave, Employer Pension contribution and medical insurance cover (staff and family) based on MSF EA terms/conditions.
