The IRC is committed to developing innovative programs that respond to the refugees’ unique strengths and needs, using our learning and experience to shape policy and practice, and highlighting and promoting best practices in refugee services provision.The IRC is seeking a Program Officer for Instructional Design for Switchboard, a project that provides training and capacity-building services to service providers in the United States, including resettlement agencies and affiliates, state agencies, ethnic community-based organizations, and others. More information about Switchboard can be found at www.SwitchboardTA.org.The Program Officer for Instructional Design will report to the Senior Program Officer for Instructional Design and will be responsible for delivering high-quality instructional design across Switchboard’s capacity-building initiatives, including online training, self-paced courses, communities of practice, and learning resources such as videos, information guides, toolkits, etc. This position is remote and may be located anywhere in the United States.Major Responsibilities:Instructional DesignDeliver high-quality instructional design across trainings and learning resources developed by Switchboard’s internal and external subject matter experts; provide guidance and review of instructional design across all materials including eLearning courses, instructor-led courses, webinars, and meetingsServe as Switchboard’s webinar and meeting producerResearch and recommend innovative training and instructional design practices that Switchboard should incorporateEnsure that practitioner knowledge informs Switchboard’s trainings and learning resourcesLead implementation of strategy for updating and/or maintaining previously developed Switchboard learning resourcesChampion a culture of learning and continuous improvement in Switchboard’s approach to instructional design; identify relevant professional development opportunities for Switchboard teamProject Management and M&EContribute to needs assessment process to ensure instructional design best practices are incorporated into Switchboard’s annual workplanAnalyze feedback and evaluation data from Switchboard’s TTA participants with a focus on instructional design improvementsProvide input into Switchboard reports, including monthly activity updates and semi-annual Performance Progress Reports.Other duties as assigned*.*Job Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, education, or other relevant field (or equivalent experience)Minimum four years of experience developing and implementing training, technical assistance, capacity-building, or education programsExperience developing and producing innovative virtual multimedia trainings, such as webinars, online courses, self-paced e-learning, etc.Experience contributing to project M&E (data collection, management, and reporting)Familiarity with and commitment to data-driven, evidence-based programmingExcellent written and oral communication skills, with evidence of ability to build capacity of staff at multiple levelsAbility to effectively manage complex projects with strict timelinesPreferred Experience & Skills:Graduate degree in relevant field (or equivalent experience)Familiarity with relevant Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-funded programsExperience engaging with external subject matter experts and/or consultantsWorking Environment: This position is a remote working environment. Required domestic travel up to 20%.Compensation: ($80,000 - $85,000 - annually ). Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirementsUS Benefits: We offer a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
