This Atlas explores the rich food diversity of the Amazon through the knowledge, practices, and territories of Indigenous and local communities. Developed with fourteen communities across seven Amazonian countries under the Amazon Sustainable Landscapes Program, it documents traditional foods, ecological calendars, cultural narratives, food processing techniques, and recipes that reflect deep connections between people, forests, rivers, and savannas. The Atlas highlights food as a source of memory, identity, autonomy, and cultural continuity while emphasizing the importance of preserving traditional knowledge amid growing environmental and social pressures. Through photographs, maps, oral histories, documentaries, podcasts, and other multimedia resources, the publication fosters a greater understanding of Amazonian food systems and their role in sustaining biodiversity and community life. It underscores the need to recognize and protect the cultural and ecological diversity that continues to thrive across Amazonian territories.
