Severe weather has affected northern Italy since 11 May, resulting in weather-related incidents that have caused casualties, damage and traffic disruption. As of 14 May, media reports indicate that three people were injured in the Veneto region in north-eastern Italy. Two of these were injured in a power outage-related incident on a public transport line in Venice, and one was injured in a wind-related incident in the municipality of Fratta Polesine in the province of Rovigo. Both incidents caused travel disruption. Treviso, Padua and Vicenza provinces have been affected as well. More rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast for the Lombardia, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions over the next 24 hours.
