Country: United States of AmericaOrganization: International Rescue CommitteeClosing date: 28 Aug 2026Background:This position is represented by the OPEIU union and subject to the terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement.Job Overview:Major Responsibilities:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Scheduling and coordinating adult education classes.Coordinate enrollment and registration process, maintain attendance records, and prepare classroom materials.Communicate with community partners for referrals and share class information as directed by supervisor.Provide administrative support for volunteers, interns coordination, including scheduling and basic training under supervisor guidance.Support grant writing efforts related to Adult Education programming.Ensure compliance with established procedures for recordkeeping and reporting.Participate in team meetings and staff development activities as assigned.Perform other routine tasks as directed by the supervisor.Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred.Minimum two years of experience in an education or related field preferred.Minimum two years’ experience in adult education programs.Basic knowledge of adult education principles and English language instruction helpful.Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely in spoken and written English with people at varying language proficiency levels.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle; willing to drive agency van as needed.Working Environment:A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.Equal Opportunity Employer: IRC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
