This dataset provides aggregated annual counts of fatalities among personnel associated with United Nations missions. Fatality counts are grouped by incident year, United Nations mission, casualty nationality and type of fatality. Country identifiers, including United Nations M49 and ISO alpha-3 codes refer to the nationality of the casualties, not to the geographic location where the incident occurred. The dataset covers annual fatalities recorded from 1948 onward and includes categories such as malicious acts, accidents, illnesses, others. To see the comprehensive mission fatalities, see https://psdata.un.org/dataset/DPPADPOSS-FATALITIES The purpose of this dataset is to ensure DPOs contribution to the UN System Data Commons.
