Country: Syrian Arab RepublicOrganization: Islamic ReliefClosing date: 15 Aug 2026VACANCY REFERENCE: Media Assistant - MA-069JOB SUMMARYThe Media Assistant is responsible for producing high-quality photo and video content and coordinating field media coverage across Syria. Based in the Damascus office with field travel required, the role involves capturing and editing media assets, as well as serving as the main technical focal point for coordinating and reviewing submissions from the field volunteer network. Working under the direct supervision of the Media Officer, the Media Assistant ensures all organizational programs are documented professionally, ethically, and in line with branding standards to support donor reporting and external communications.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, capture, and edit high-quality photo and video content for project activities, events, and official guest visits across Syria.Process, filter, and format photo selections (providing high/low-resolution versions) and video assets according to technical guidelines and agreed deadlines.Draft and write impactful human-interest stories and field updates from project sites.Conduct recorded beneficiary interviews for auditing, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring informed consent is obtained in compliance with organizational regulations.Serve as the primary focal point for field volunteer photographers across Syrian governorates.Issue coverage technical briefs, guidelines, and schedules based on project needs.Review and verify all volunteer media submissions for technical quality, branding compliance, and ethical standards.Maintain an organized digital media library for efficient retrieval of photos and video assets.Ensure all visual content strictly adheres to ethical standards, beneficiary protection, and approved organizational visual identity/logo guidelines.Assist in organizing logistics and setting up equipment for organizational media events and field visits.Support the Media Officer in gathering media assets for program reporting, donor compliance, and annual media reports.Perform any other operational tasks assigned by the Media OfficerExperience / Education/Skills- EssentialUniversity degree in a related field (Media, Art,)Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Humanitarian Field and Media Roles.Computer literate and competent with Microsoft office and other design Programs, as required.Excellent verbal & written communication skillsLanguageArabic as mother tongueEnglish reading and writingIT skillsExcellent computer skills.Proficiency in the computer applications, internet and search tools.Proficiency in MS office and the ability to use software necessary for information management and reporting.
