Country: Yemen Organization: Solidarités International Closing date: 31 Aug 2026 About us Desired start date: 01.09.2026 Duration of the mission: 6 months (with possible prolongation) Location: Aden SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms. About the mission SI opened its mission in Yemen in 2017, establishing its coordination in Aden. Since then, SI expanded the geographical scope of its intervention, and established offices in Al Mokha, Taizz and Marib, and operational presence in Hodeidah, Lahj, Dahle, Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadramout Governorates. The mission has a forecasted budget of about 21M Euros for the year 2024. It operates from Aden, where the coordination is based, and 4 operational field bases located in Taiz, Marib and Al Mokha with Emergency team also stationed in Aden. The mission is composed of approx. 20 expatriates and about 150 national staffs. Objectives for the mission for 2024 is to build on its Emergency Response capacity to expand in hard-to-reach areas and develop qualitative interventions responding to emergency and protracted needs, while enhancing resilience. SI is currently undertaking 11 different projects in Yemen, financed respectively by the ECHO, BHA, UN-OCHA, CDCS, SDC, DUTCH MOFA, CIAA and DG INTPA. SI implements emergency and resilience WASH programs with activities of water trucking, rehabilitation of water network, construction of emergency latrines and showers, distribution of hygiene kits, hygiene promotion, and cleaning campaigns. Under its FSL portfolio, SI distributes unconditional, multi-purpose cash to IDPs and host communities, support the livelihood component by supporting in Income Generating activities. SI has been one of the first humanitarian actors to access the West Coast and remains as of today positioned in hard-to-reach areas close to the frontline of Marib, Hodeidah and Maqbanah. SI aims at maintaining this positioning and further expanding its presence. About the job General objective: Ensure proper grants' management from inception phase to final reporting. Ensure compliance towards donors' regulations. Foster donors' network and support representation towards donors. Enhance donors' mapping and develop opportunities' development plans. Build on the partnerships' strategy of the Mission and support the reinforcement of SI's partnerships in Yemen both with national and INGOs The main challenges: The Yemen Mission has been working on an increased diversified resource mobilisation stratgey and is expected to potentailly have 5-6 new grants (CDCS Taiz, SDRPY Taiz, DG MENA Marib, DG MENA Taiz, FCDO, FRDL, SDC - Taiz) as well increasing new local partnerships (5-6), and two new consortia set ups, with SI being the lead.. Donors are not present in-Country and representation takes place remotely or through visits in Amman or other locations. Humanitarian funding is expected to decrease, while development donors have increasingly expressed interest to continue to support (e.g. EU, SDC). The push for cost-effectiveness pushes all INGOs towards consortia while the kicking in of the localization agenda imposes the development of local partnerships. Priorities for the 2/3 first months: 1) Steer the Partnership strategy with a decisive step towards implementation of new integrated approaches an consortia over 2026/27 2) Facilitate the development of key propositional concept notes to forward the mission strategy in particular towards development donors 3) Work on the development of a more sustainable Grants department (so far relying on international staff only) Security constraints: The security situation in Aden remains unstable and volatile notwithstanding the distance from frontlines. Risks related to high proliferation of weapons, radicalization and potential jihadi attacks remain significant. Due to the above, movements for international staff remain highly constrained, with a limited number of public places (some cafes, restaurants and supermarket) validated for movements during daytime. Curfew time is at 10.30 pm. Your profile Diplomas and experience : • Bachelor / Diploma in relevant field • Experience in the humanitarian sector : 3-4 years • Experience in a similar position : 0-2 years Skills : Technical Skills : • Experience in business development and lobbying towards donors (in particular development ones) • Experience in grant management and compliance, particularly with institutional donors • Experience in partnership mapping and development Transversal Skills : • Advanced communication skills with capacity to juggle conflicting priorities • Good representation skills • Capacity to work to tight deadlines in a challenging humanitarian environment Language : • Fluency in written and oral English mandatory • Arabic an asset • French is an asset SI will offer you A salaried position: According to experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month (2600 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 750. SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment. Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every two months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked. Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded. Living conditions : The Guest House offers good levels of comfort, all rooms are individual and spacious.
