To enhance the sustainability of the feeding program, LUH introduced the Sustainable School Meals Project (SSMP), which supports schools to establish climate-smart agriculture that contributes to food production and dietary diversity.Lightuphope is in need of a Temporary Driver to support its logistical needs.Key ResponsibilitiesTransportation and Logistics:Safely drive NGO staff, VIPs, and project participants to approved destinations, including offices, field sites, and official meetingsTransport project goods, parcels, documents, and cargo, ensuring timely and secure delivery.Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance:Ensure vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and in good working conditionKeep vehicle documentation, such as registration, insurance, and maintenance records, up to dateReport any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate necessary repairsAdhere to local traffic laws and organizational safety policiesOperational Support:Assist project teams with logistical tasks as needed, including fieldwork supportBe available during off-hours or emergencies to meet operational demands.Teamwork and Professional Conduct:Build effective relationships with colleagues, external partners, and local authoritiesDemonstrate empathy, respect, and adaptability in diverse work environmentsContribute to improving transport and logistical systems based on experience and best practicesQualifications and SkillsValid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience of 3–5 years or more in professional driving is preferredProficiency in driving manual transmission vehiclesKnowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshootingStrong understanding of local traffic laws and safety regulations Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and handle emergenciesGood interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as part of a teamBasic literacy and numeracy; computer literacy may be an advantageTypically reports to the Procurement and Logistics Officer.No direct supervisory responsibilities, but plays a critical role in supporting organizational operations and logisticsDuration and CompensationThe assignment shall be undertaken on an as-needed basis.
