Organization: Media in Cooperation and TransitionClosing date: 28 Aug 2026Call for Proposals:Critical Voices Fellowship 2026-27Global Communications & Community ManagerMiCT is calling for proposals for a freelance Global Communications & Community Manager as part of its programme “MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices 2026–27”, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. MiCT invites interested and qualified persons to submit proposals by 23:59 CET on 28 August 2026 (see Section 6 for full submission details).1. Introducing MiCTMedia in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organisation delivering expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision and agility. Through our collaborative work with our partners, we foster transparent, inclusive and fair dialogue supporting resilient societies that thrive.Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates the training of journalists and media producers, programme and content development, radio and film production, magazine and book publishing, media research and monitoring, in addition to supporting the financial viability of our partners.2. The ProgramThe MiCT Critical Voices Fellowship is aimed at media professionals from crisis and conflict countries who share a common value in their professional journalistic integrity. The program has a global mandate, providing Fellows with tailored support covering their most urgent needs to allow them continue contributing to the global information ecosystem.3. Description of the roleTo support the internal and external communications of the Fellowship programme and its network of over 1,000 journalists and media makers, MiCT is looking for a Global Communications and Community Manager to support the programme for up to 90 days, over the period September 2026 to 30 June 2027.Global Communications● Development and implementation of a comprehensive global communications strategy● Development of partnerships with media and other support organisations● Publication and dissemination of press releases and newsletters● Monitoring and visibility support for Fellows’ content● Monitoring and advancing social media reach of the programme and its FellowsGlobal Community Management● Continued development and implementation of a global, digital community strategy● Organising and delivering global trainings and community eventsAny tasks beyond the above must fall within the same subject matter and will be agreed with MiCT before contract signature, within the overall ceiling of the contracted number of days set out in Section 5.4.1 Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory)To be considered, applicants must demonstrate all of the following. Applications that do not meet these minimum requirements will not proceed to evaluation:● Fluency in English (written and spoken)● Proven professional experience developing and implementing international communications strategies, with a focus on LinkedIn, Instagram, X and newsletters● Working understanding of SEO and social media analytics● Experience managing digital platforms4.2 Evaluation Criteria (Award Criteria)Applications meeting all eligibility criteria under 4.1 will be evaluated and ranked on the basis of the best price-quality ratio, using the following weighted criteria:Evaluation criterionWeighting20% Quality and relevance of the proposed communications approach, as set out in the cover letter30% Relevant experience with crisis/exile journalism, media freedom, and/or the project regions (Myanmar, Russia, Sudan, Ukraine, Libya, Afghanistan)10% Experience organising training and peer-learning offerings10% Design skills30% Daily rate (price)100% TotalWorking knowledge of the regional contexts named above, other working languages, and advanced design skills are an advantage and are reflected within the relevant weighted criteria rather than as separate pass/fail requirements. MiCT reserves the right to invite shortlisted applicants to a short interview before final selection.5. What we offerWe welcome applicants globally to join our small, creative and international team. MiCT can provide a safe, creative working environment in Berlin or one of our global hubs. Remote candidates are also welcome to apply. The contract will run from September 2026 until the end of June 2027, covering around 90 days on a flexible, freelance basis.
