S/he works under the supervisionof the Protection Program Officer (PPO) and in collaboration with the Protection program team and partnersThe protection Assistant supervises also the activities carried out by CARE volunteers in case management / referral. S/he.The Protection Program Assistant is responsible for the quality and safeness of activities delivered under his/her supervision, according to CARE mandate and commitments and relevant international standardsKey Responsibilities1. Program planning and implementation:Work closely with CARE staff and volunteers (including other programs) and receive internal referrals for PSSsupport. Coordinate with Case Workers to engage VAWG survivors in psychosocial and life-skills activities.Support partner for technical and monitor activitiesDesign, plan and implement awareness-raising initiatives and activities targeting women, men, girls and boysand addressing their specific needs and major protection issues identified and prioritized by communitiesCoordination and networking:Support partners in the update of the service mapping and the development/strengthening of effective referral mechanisms. Refer to CWs VAWG survivors identified.Maintain liaison with the local government officials, other I/NGOs, and community-based organization’s(CBO) at the community level to ensure their cooperation and coordination for effective implementation of the program in the areas.Represent CARE on local exercises in his/her geographic area of responsibility. ·In general, make sure that a positive and professional image of CARE is conveyed.Ensure that CARE mandate, thematic policies, ethics, values, and views are followed in relation to third parties.3. Reporting and information management:Under the supervision of the PPO and in close coordination with the Protection Data Assistant, ensure proper datacollection of psychosocial activities and beneficiaries, ensuring confidentiality of data when required (including soft and hard data).Collect data on regularly base and regularly update individual monitoring files of the Program beneficiaries.Keep proper records of expenditures and report on these to the line manager.Capacity BuildingWith support of PPO and respected partner, design a capacity building plan based on the capacity needs and the implemented activities.Conduct the needed training for the partner staff and report the feedback to the team.Design, plan and implement awareness-raising initiatives and activities targeting women, men, girls andboys and addressing their specific needs and major protection issues identified and prioritized byRequired:Minimum two years’ experience working with an INGO.Minimum one year’s previous experience in protection/VAWG/CP/MHPSS programs.Previous experience in humanitarian project and human resources managementExperience providing training and mentoring to othersExperience work with partner.Ability to organize and priorities work and competing tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain composure.Excellent communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with women, girls and survivors of all ages, background and diversity.Ability to discuss sensitive issues with respect, empathy, and professionalism.Strengths in listening, empathy, flexibility, and creativity.Knowledge and experience with community outreach and mobilization.Familiarity with principles of monitoring and evaluation; experience in writing brief narrative reports and data reporting.Safeguarding CommitmentsThe organization has a zero-tolerance approach toward sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, and child abuse.
