This report presents the findings of a World Bank Group Health Data Ecosystem Assessment of Andhra Pradesh’s public health sector, conducted at the request of the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW). Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a leader in digital health transformation in India through the extensive implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, widespread adoption of digital health tools, and strong integration of health information systems across all levels of care. With health account IDs registered for the majority of the population and extensive use of mobile and web-based platforms by frontline health workers, the state has established a robust health data ecosystem that supports service delivery, interoperability, and real-time data reporting. The assessment, based on interviews, focus groups, application reviews, and health facility visits, examined the effectiveness, strengths, and challenges of the state's digital health infrastructure. The findings aim to help the DoHFW identify areas for improvement and implement actionable measures to further strengthen data management, integrated care, and digital health services across Andhra Pradesh.
