In 2025 to 2026, 4.8 million P800 Tax Calculation overpayment letters were issued. Approximately 1m remain uncollected due to a variety of different reasons. HMRC Payments are looking to reduce the volume of uncollected overpayments by securing contact detail, mobile number, email address and postal address. 2.General Overview2.1Data is sought to help support HMRCs aim to reduce the number of uncollected repayments. The data would support HMRC's communications approach by providing HMRC with customer mobile numbers, email addresses and up-to date address details so customers can be contacted and nudged to collect their overpayment.
