World Bank Pink Sheet data show commodity prices rising in August 2026, led by higher energy, precious metals, and base metal prices, while fertilizer prices declined.

The energy price index increased by 8.8% in August, driven by natural gas (+10.1%) and crude oil (+5.7%), according to the World Bank's Pink Sheet. The non-energy index increased by 2.3%. Agricultural prices were up 1.7% in August, with food rising 1.4%, beverages 2.0%, and raw materials 2.2%. Fertilizer prices eased 1.9%. Metals gained 4.0% in August, led by zinc (+7.7%) and copper (+5.8%). Precious metals surged 8.8%, driven by silver (+11.2%) and platinum (+9.7%).
