This report examines gender-specific barriers affecting women’s participation in cross-border trade and trade-related services in India. Based on quantitative surveys, stakeholder consultations, key informant interviews, and field visits, the study assesses challenges faced by women traders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers. It identifies barriers related to social norms, safety and security, access to information, trade finance, infrastructure, and skill development. The report highlights gaps in women’s participation within trade and logistics sectors and evaluates the gender dimensions of trade facilitation measures and border procedures. It provides evidence-based recommendations to improve transparency, safety, inclusion, access to finance, capacity building, and gender-responsive infrastructure, supporting a more inclusive trade environment and increased economic opportunities for women in India.
