Country: BeninOrganization: SightsaversClosing date: 18 Oct 2026Sightsavers is looking for an experienced Project Officer with excellent partner management skills and experience of Digital Health, to support the continued success of Neglected Tropical Disease projects in Benin.NTD Project OfficerWe are looking for an experienced Project Officer with excellent partner management skills and experience of Digital Health, to support the continued success of Neglected Tropical Disease projects in Benin, in collaboration with The Reaching the Last Mile Funds (RLMF) and several other donors.In Benin, Sightsavers has successfully supported the elimination of trachoma in 2022. However, Benin like many other Sub-Saharan African countries is endemic to several NTD and in line with the WHO roadmap, the country ambition to eliminate most NTDs by 2030. Sightsavers is supporting Benin for the elimination of onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis with the ambition of growing the portfolio to include schistosomiasis and soil transmitted helminth.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, talented and enthusiastic programme officer to play a crucial part in impactful change. You will utilise your capacity building and partner relationship skills to assist in the digitalisation of projects, and to build strong relationships with partners, other INGOs and Government organisations.Key duties will include:Planning, Monitoring and CoordinationDigital Health Technical AdvisorFinancial ManagementAdvocacyThis is a highly varied and involved role, for full details and list of duties please see the Job Description for full details.Skills and ExperienceThe Programme Officer will be a highly skilled professional with a strong background in planning, monitoring, and coordination. They will assist staff seconded to government to manage the effective implementation of planned activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and coordinating review and feedback from technical teams.Essential CriteriaBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceExceptional experience in a similar roleExtensive experience collaborating with partners, government officials, multilateral organisations - with demonstrable relationship building ability and excellent communicationCapacity building experience – assisting and working closely with partner organisationsGIS Spatial analysisExcellent Digital Health experience and capacity building of partners in this areaExceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills, including effective communication of results through data visualization to audiences of varying technical backgroundsKnowledge of neglected tropical diseases, disease elimination, digital health, and/or other major global infectious disease problemsExperience in strategy development, planning, and project implementationDemonstrated analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently in unstructured settings and to adapt to new environments and challengesExperience in research project managementDesirableExperience within a safeguarding roleMaster’s Degree in a relevant fieldThis is a varied role, please read the full job description for further details.BenefitsSightsavers offers a reward package based on local pay, local contracts and local benefits and will not normally offer international contracts.
