Awarded contract | £9,200,000 - £0 | Transport For Greater Manchester | Software-related services
TfGM have a requirement for the procurement of software licences, products and services, which are needed to ensure TfGM staff can access the necessary software, via a Value-Added Reseller ("VAR") agreement. A VAR is a single supplier organisation that adds features or services to an existing third-party product (the licence or software that is being purchased from the developer). It then resells the integrated, customized solution to an end-user or consumer. VARs add features or services to software and hardware products. They then resell these products to end users as turnkey solutions. Organisations such as TfGM often need to replace old hardware and software or create new systems. This process can be difficult, especially if the user or business does not have the requisite knowledge. VARs support organisations in this by selling products, expertise, and logistics. VARs commonly offer hardware and software packages designed for specific tasks, such as point of sale or cloud storage. VARs that offer these turnkey systems usually provide installation, training, VARs often have expertise in specialised markets. They may offer consultation and assessment services to customers for instance. These services help the customer discover their needs. The VAR can then offer an appropriate solution.TfGM undertook a competition via the RM6098 Technology Products & Associated Service 2 framework, Lot 3 (Software) to find a supplier for this contract.
