UNICEF Tanzania is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Innovation Officer to lead and support innovation, digital transformation, and emerging technology initiatives that accelerate results for children and young people across Tanzania. The incumbent will drive the design, testing, documentation, and scale-up of innovative solutions that strengthen programme effectiveness, improve service delivery, and promote sustainable systems change.The role will support meaningful adolescent and youth participation through both digital and non-digital engagement platforms, foster strategic partnerships across government, academia, civil society, innovation hubs, and the private sector, and contribute to resource mobilization and advocacy efforts for innovation and digital development priorities. The Innovation Officer will also promote responsible and rights-based adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with UNICEF standards on ethics, transparency, data protection, safety, and inclusion. Working across programme sectors, the incumbent will facilitate knowledge management, learning, and coordination of innovation initiatives, helping to transform promising ideas into scalable solutions that deliver measurable impact for children and communities.
