Synopsis:
Cambodia continues to experience the impacts of widespread flooding following prolonged heavy rainfall and seasonal weather disturbances. While floodwaters have begun to recede in several areas, affected families continue to face challenges, including food insecurity, damage to agricultural land, loss of income and disrupted livelihoods. Across World Vision’s operational areas, 171,448 people, including 33,669 children, have been affected.
World Vision International in Cambodia is implementing a 90-day humanitarian response across eight districts in Battambang and Banteay Meanchey provinces, providing food assistance, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) support, child protection, nutrition and other essential assistance. To date, 1,227 households, representing 7,558 people, including 2,689 children, have received assistance, with particular attention to children and other vulnerable groups.
World Vision is working with government authorities, local communities and humanitarian partners to address the immediate needs of flood-affected families. The response prioritises access to essential supplies and services, the protection and well-being of vulnerable children, and support for families facing the ongoing impacts of flooding.
